Function description

The GE Ethernet/IONet switch ESWB has five versions (H1A to H5A), which differ in the types of optical ports they can contain, such as none, multi-mode, or single-mode (long-distance) ports.

Depending on the hardware form (ESWA or ESWB) and the DIN rail mounting direction selected, the ESWx switch can be mounted to the DIN rail using one of three GE certified DIN rail mounting clips. The following table outlines the individual order of clips. Each switch has mounting screws.

Input voltage dips (also known as power failures) may cause the ESWB I/O network (IONet) switch to restart incorrectly and, in some cases, fail to re-establish communication with the system. If the ESWB switch encounters power failure and the input 28 V line drops below the minimum operating voltage, but not completely to 0 V, the switch may not restart correctly when the input voltage recovers above the minimum operating voltage.

If this happens, the ESWB LED will remain stable, flash synchronously, or scroll from side to side, and the switch will not reconnect. If the site encounters power failure, please check the LED in front of the switch after the voltage returns and IONet loses communication. If they are stable, flashing synchronously, or scrolling, manually restart the switch by restarting the power.
